Kuala Lumpur: The Miss Malaysia Tourism Pageant 2023 National Final is set to take off with 18 elegant delegates from various states, including Sabah, under the collaboration of D'Touch International Sdn Bhd and Myshoppo Sdn Bhd.

The Miss Malaysia Tourism Pageant President, Tan Sri Datuk Danny Ooi, confirmed in a press release the National Final coronation will be held on 13th October at the Berjaya Times Square Hotel, Kuala Lumpur at 7.00pm.Speaking to the media, Danny Ooi noted that the Miss Malaysia Tourism Pageant 2023 is a one-of-a-kind competition as it incorporates three different Miss Malaysia Tourism titles where three Miss Malaysia queens will be crowned in one night.

Joanne Clare Deaves, 23, of Sabah, told the Daily Express that she hopes to win a title in the National Final as she desires to promote Sabah's unique culture to an international audience.However, Joanne, who competed in the Miss Chinese World 2023 on May 20, mentioned that she is well prepared for the National Final since it is not her first time competing for crowns.

Joanne, who works in finance, has developed classy interests and abilities that could assist her win the crown in the face of stiff competition, such as cycling, yoga, and dancing. However, she did explain that it was not a journey to reach up to the National Final as she had to sacrifice a lot including her sleeping hours in order to do necessary preparations.

Darsni who's the youngest contestant, stated that she has been wanting to compete in pageants since her schooling days, despite her parents' rejection to it as they opined that studies come first. "I have had a passion for modeling since I was in secondary school but my parents were really strict and they told me to focus on my studies until I complete my SPM examination. Then, I passed my SPM in flying colours with straight A's and now I'm focusing on my passion," she noted.
