If you've ever been to a country club neighborhood or resort town within the last decade or so, you may have noticed locals and visitors getting around in s, or maybe even a golf cart. These small vehicles are sometimes referred to as Neighborhood Electric Vehicles , and are alternatives to using an ICE car or full sized EV when someone just wants to travel a short distance on low-speed roads.
. Meyers Manx buggies have a cult following today, and the brand has had a resurgence recently, even venturing into EVs. At Monterey Car Week, the company announced that it's producing a NEV in the same style as its iconic dune buggy—down to the rally-style headlights. Called the"Resorter," it's a throwback to a vehicle of the same name that Meyers Manx produced back in the 1970s—a four-seater used for touring, and of course, resorts.
Meyers Manx hasn't released any hard figures such as horsepower, range, or price yet, but don't expect the Resorter to have a ton of range or exceptionally high speeds. Remember, its built for short trips around town, not lengthy road trips. Still, its style and fun factor could more than make up for the lack of range.
