These are the men and women most admired in the U.S. in 2019:

The research was conducted across 41 countries and once again, Microsoft founder and philanthropist Bill Gates was named the world's most admired man, garnering 9.6% of the vote. He has topped the list every year YouGov has conducted the survey. Michelle Obama displaced Angelina Jolie as the world's most admired woman with Oprah Winfrey coming second and Jolie slipping down the ranks slightly to third.
In the United States, the rankings look somewhat different with Bill Gates only named the country's fourth most admired man this year. Former President Barack Obama and his wife are still hugely popular with the American public and they were named the most-admired people in the U.S. with 19.9% and 11.5%. On the men's list, President Trump comes second with 11.5% while Clint Eastwood rounds off the top-three.
After Michelle Obama on the women's list, lawyer and jurist Ruth Bader Ginsburg comes second while current First Lady Melania Trump comes third. Notable inclusions on the list of the most-admired men include current Democratic presidential candidates Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders who come sixth and seventh. Ivanka Trump also made the women's list, coming in 11th. Despite being widely admired internationally, Angelina Jolie only comes 14th in the U.S. rankings.
