PLUS: The wrong man
Hello, Ten years ago, Elaine Hart’s life changed forever. On June 7 2014, her son Robert went to Parklife festival to enjoy a weekend of music and fun with his girlfriend. He never returned home.
Today marks a decade since Robert, a Manchester City fan from Macclesfield, was attacked. His death continues to have a profound impact on Elaine, who remains desperate for answers and closure. In the years since Robert’s death, there have been repeated appeals from police and his loved ones. Yet the person who threw the fatal punch has never been identified.
They told him he matched the description of a man who had brutally attacked and raped a young mother-of-two on a motorway embankment in Little Hulton. Yesterday, What’s On Editor Jenna Campbell was invited along for an exclusive look at the festival site as the final preparations were being made. Headlining this year’s Parklife are American rapper and singer Doja Cat, electronic duo Disclosure and producer Kaytranada.
The city's politics is dominated by Labour, with the party having a majority on the council and holding all parliamentary seats in the borough. It's hard to see how that could change after the general election on July 4 - despite Sue and others believing that people in Salford are being ignored.
