Theo Tobias and his dog Roscoe are championing local suppliers to bring the community together

It can sometimes feel like there is a new coffee shop opening in Greater Manchester every day, but one new addition to Withington's high street aims to change the way people think about and drink their cup of Java and eat lunch.

READ MORE: The south Manchester kebab shop adored by locals that keeps customers waiting five months for food "It's not just about ensuring everything is local, it's also about rapport with these suppliers," Theo tells the M.E.N. "These are all people who I've already got a long-standing relationship with - it's not like it's mate's rates. it's about mate's reliability. I know where I stand with these people."

"Coffee and food has never been for one certain demographic. I feel like coffee is just as communal as drinking alcohol but it's more productive instead." And as a coffee barista who has helped train up staff at numerous bars, restaurants and cafes across Greater Manchester for the last few years, it's safe to say that Theo knows a thing or two when it comes to coffee - although he admits it took him a while to get into the drink.

"That one interaction of just a few words can really mean something to people and it just adds up to what the world could be. I'm more of a coffee enthusiast in the wider sense, it's more important to me to see how it's used as a force for good."
