A new The Last of Us video teases a gut-wrenching journey ahead for Pedro Pascal's Joel and Bella Ramsey's Ellie. Based on Naughty Dog's acclaimed PlayStation games, HBO's upcoming series chronicles Joel and Ellie's journey as they travel across a post-apocalyptic version of America after most of the population is wiped out by the deadly Cordyceps infection.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY After several previous The Last of Us trailers and teasers have shown off a first-look at the infected, post-apocalyptic America, and Joel and Ellie's dynamic, a new video shared by the official The Last of Us Twitter account shows more of what's to come. The short video shows more of Joel's quest to keep Ellie alive and promises that the duo will be forced to contend with some tense, violent, and emotional moments in the weeks ahead.
Pascal, who also appeared in Game of Thrones, has since become quite a big star, taking on the leading role in the Disney+ Star Wars show The Mandalorian. The show sees Pascal's hero caring for Grogu, an alien child, and it's this father-son dynamic between the two characters that is largely responsible for making the show such a hit.
The Last of Us is obviously quite different from past projects that either Pascal or Ramsey have taken on, but the two actors have impressive resumes that suggest they won't let fans down. While trailers have already shown some of the dynamic between them, the true test will come this Sunday when The Last of Us premieres on HBO.
