The so-called Prime Jedi is the first known Jedi in Star Wars canon, and actually debuted in Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
Dawn Of The Jedi Will Connect To Luke Skywalker's Divisive Jedi Order Beliefs Luke Skywalker's arc in The Last Jedi was controversial, but he did impart some useful and interesting wisdom about the Jedi Order and its relationship with the Force. Luke himself realized he was wrong in thinking the Jedi needed to end, but he was right in his dissection of how the Order had lost its way and that the Force didn't belong to them.
