So, the guys in our Twitter replies actually have potential?
As far as romantic origin stories go, meeting someone in the replies to your tweet has to be a pretty niche one. But that’s exactly what happened for Terry Brown and fiancé Katie, who went viral last weekend for their memeableSharing a four-story picture board that even Gen Z would be proud of, Terry showed the beginning of their relationship started with a simple tweet. ‘Asked the married guys at work where to meet single guys. Here’s what they came up with,’ Katie tweeted. ‘1.
With some perfectly placed eye-roll emojis, her tweet from August 2017 received a fair few replies, one of which was from Terry. ‘Twitter,’ was all he replied with – a smooth and efficient line we have no choice but to stan. Katie was less than impressed though, replying ‘Literally the worst answer’ with a cheeky laughing emoji. Terry’s GIF reply of Barack Obama seeming unimpressed.
And yet, their quick Twitter flirtation ended in success for the pair, with Terry then sharing a ‘three years later’ picture followed by a selfie of the pair engaged. With over 550,000 likes, it seems we weren’t the only ones taken in by the hilariously 2020 love story. Of course, it also inspired tons of others to share their niche online love stories. 'LMAO same feeling as me meeting my husband on a mutual friend’s post sharing a PIZZA HUT PROMOTION,' one social media user replied. ' I just invited myself to go with them and four years later we’re married with two cats living abroad.'
Does this mean those of us looking for love should be scouring our Twitter replies? Well, judging by the majority of replies toonline maybe not. But, at least we can sit in bliss with the knowledge that actually, that guy that randomly flirts with you via Twitter one day could be the one. It might be one in a million, sure, but there’s hope?Read More:
