Ed Loh and Jonny Lieberman talk to actor and comedian Byron Bowers
, Bowers has worked with some of the most legendary names in Hollywood, including George Clooney, Idris Elba, Benicio del Toro, Don Cheadle, David Harbour, Zoë Kravitz, and Alicia Vikander. And that's not even counting the comedians he's worked with.
In my mind what sets Bowers apart from your standard comedian is his humanity. Sure, he can make observational humor with the best of them , but he then takes the joke the extra mile. Bowers goes left field and explores just why it's so funny—or better yet, is often leading the viewer to a place they never thought they'd get to from a comedian. His latest special on Hulu, Spiritual N***a is a masterclass in Bowers' ethereal, almost metaphysical brand of"comedy.
Plus, he's a car nut! I met and became friends with Bowers hanging out at car events where he'd show up with his incredibly rare chestnut brown 997 Targa. Since then, he's added to his Porsche stable, including a monsteried first-generation Cayenne Turbo. He's even got a secret Instagram account to chronicle all his automotive adventures.
