The Idol Season 2 Not Moving Forward At HBO Following Controversial Season 1

Sam Levinson's show won't be coming back.

Now, per The Hollywood Reporter, The Idol season 2 will not be happening at HBO. Sources state the series' fate was in question up until recently. HBO said in a statement: “The Idol was one of HBO’s most provocative original programs, and we’re pleased by the strong audience response. After much thought and consideration, HBO, as well as the creators and producers have decided not to move forward with a second season.
