Booth, a senior right-handed pitcher/shortstop who is headed to Mississippi State to continue his career, was the Alabama Sports Writers Association’s 2024 Mr. Baseball as well as the sports writers’ group’s Player and Pitcher of the Year in Class 7A. He was also the Gatorade Alabama Player of the Year and picked up MVP honors in the state championship series last month.
Booth batted .700 – and drew intentional walks in his final two at-bats – in the state championship series win over Central-Phenix City. He had a home run in all three games and finished with 10 on the year and he threw a two-hitter in the first game of the series.
