14The Home Team: News4JAX and the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp team up to make 2025 the best season yet.are having one of their best seasons in over a decade, and they’re celebrating in style on Thursday with WJXT-4 News4JAX, the number one local news station in Jacksonville. As part of this year’s winning collaboration with WJXT, the team will welcome News4JAX to VyStar Ballpark on Thursday, August 14, 2025, for a night of community pride, sports excitement, and a little extra shrimp spirit.The celebration kicks off with News4JAX meteorologist Richard Nunn taking the mound to throw out the ceremonial first pitch before the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp face off against the Norfolk Tides. The first pitch for the game is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.In honor of our nation’s heroes, the Jumbo Shrimp — along with Tulsa Welding School of Jax and OUTFRONT Media — will provide free tickets to all active duty, retired, veteran, and former military members and their dependents. Tickets can be picked up at the Miller Electric Box Office in advance or on game day, subject to availability.Thursday home games are a First Coast fan favorite, featuring $2 and $3 draft beers available at various ballpark locations, presented by Coors Light.The 2025 season has been nothing short of historic for the Jumbo Shrimp, who are set to host their first home playoff games in more than a decade.
