Schumer's latest film, *The Humans*, features a particularly memorable sex scene that is both hilarious and unexpected. Schumer, who co-wrote the film alongside Julie Paiva, describes the scene as being born from a desire to explore the comedic potential of physical limitations. 'I just thought that it would be so funny to have the impediment of trying to pretend like you're pregnant and still have sex with someone and have them not know,' she explains. Director Tyler Spindel adds, 'It was such a funny idea. And for the longest time in the script, it was just slugged as 'insane sex scene.''To ensure the scene was executed with both comedic timing and sensitivity, Schumer, Spindel, and their team relied heavily on intimacy coordinator Nicole Callender. Schumer credits Callender's guidance in helping her and her co-star, Will Forte, navigate the complexities of the scene. Schumer shares that Forte was entirely open to the creative demands of the role, even suggesting the use of oven mitts and an eye mask during the act. The scene itself involves a series of absurd and physically demanding maneuvers, with Schumer utilizing a deflated yoga ball and her considerable leg strength to create the illusion of intimacy. The added challenge of filming the scene in a real garage with the potential for interruptions from neighbors only amplified the comedic effect. Schumer recalls the awkwardness of having real families walk by during the filming, adding an unexpected layer of realism to the already outrageous scene. Spindel notes that the inclusion of a real family, not actors, for the moment when the garage door opens, resulted in a particularly memorable improvisational touch from the young son
