A poster and the first photos for The Gorge, a new movie directed by Scott Derrickson that stars Miles Teller, have been released.
has shared the first images, along with a teaser poster, for The Gorge. The images offer the first looks at Teller and Taylor-Joy’s characters, while the poster features the tagline, “They’re not keeping you out. They’re keeping them in.”
“They bond from a distance while trying to stay vigilant in defending against an unseen enemy,” according to the official plot synopsis. “When the cataclysmic threat to humanity is revealed to them, they must work together in a test of both their physical and mental strength to keep the secret in the gorge before it’s too late.”
In addition to 2012’s Sinister, Derrickson previously directed 2000’s Hellraiser: Inferno, 205’s The Exorcism of Emily Rose, 2008’s The Day the Earth Stood Still, 2014’s Deliver Us From Evil, 2016’s Doctor Strange, and 2021’s The Black Phone. He’s currently working on a sequel to The Black Phone, which will be released in October 2025.
“The Gorge blends multiple genres — romance, science fiction, action, spy thriller, and even horror,” Derrickson said. “The idea was to first invest a lot of time into the backstories and evolving connection between the two characters played by Miles Teller and Anya Taylor-Joy, and then see them thrust into survival mode amidst the unrelenting and unpredictable dangers and mysteries of the gorge itself.
The script for the movie was written by Zach Dean. Dean and Derrickson produce the film alongside David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger, C.
