The Goldbergs season 10 images reveal the return of Barry's ex in a storyline that may cause waves on the sitcom. The show, which has been running on ABC since 2013, is a 1980s-set sitcom that shows the world from the naive point of view of the Goldberg family's youngest son Adam . Adam's older brother Barry has a major storyline surrounding his on-again-off-again relationship with Lainey Lewis with whom he was briefly engaged.

The storyline will follow Lainey returning to town to visit Erica's baby, though Erica's husband Geoff isn't so sure it's a good idea for Lainey to be around Barry.AJ Michalka's Role on the Goldbergs Explained Although she was only on the series in a recurring capacity at first, Lainey's role became massively important to the trajectory of the series.
After her two-season stint as a main cast member, Lainey earned a starring role on the spinoff sitcom Schooled. That series was set in the 1990s and followed Lainey's life after returning to her hometown and getting a job as a music teacher. Schooled, which also starred Tim Meadows, Bryan Callen, Brett Dier, and Haneefah Wood, ran for two seasons starting in 2019, during which time Lainey continued to periodically appear on The Goldbergs.
So far there has not been a season of The Goldbergs where Lainey has not appeared in some capacity. However, she now only pops up periodically in his life to wreak havoc and force him to consider where he is in his current romantic life. She occupies a role similar to that of Chandler's ex, Janice , on the iconic 1990s sitcom Friends.
