Steven Smith tells FN in an interview all about his new design, the Hey Dude Stride S sneaker, which will be released on Father's Day this month.
The unusual location for the launch was intentional though, as Smith explained.
“With Father’s Day just around the corner, we thought it would be fun to have the launch at the ‘shrine for dad’s,’” thetold FN with a smile. “When I first heard we were actually doing it here at Home Depot, I thought it was awesome. But I also didn’t even realize there was a Home Depot in midtown. ”,” is excited for the market to try out the new style.
Called the Hey Dude Stride S, the new sneaker is designed to put the performance of the brand’s Comfort System technology at the forefront, making comfort visible both in how the shoe feels and how it performs. The combination of a HeyComf EXP foam insole for anatomical fit and arch support, combined with a HeyGrip+ outsole for added traction and durability, lends this new silhouette to comfort and stability for everyday wear.
The style also features a new EverComf high-rebound foam midsole for energized cushioning, Smith noted.is its high durability,” Smith explained.
“It’s a bit of a breakout shoe because when you think about the origin of the dad shoe, it has a white or gray base, and it’s your proper sneaker that you can beat the crap out of and over time it’s still so damn durable that it becomes the lawn mowing shoe. And then eventually you get your fresh new pair. So, it’s this great durability combined with the comfort of Hey Dude that brings this shoe to life.
” As for what he wants everyone to know about this launch, Smith said that the new sneaker demonstrates that Hey Dude can be so much more than just its “We can still deliver that great comfort but also continue along that vein of great product of what I’ve always done in my career,” Smith added.
“I want to make good stuff with great quality, and for a shoe like this for around 100 bucks, it’s a great value. ” The new Hey Dude Stride S, which retails for $99.99, will launch in North America with an exclusive drop on Father’s Day, June 21, followed by broader distribution moments throughout the remainder of the year.
