The gigantic chippy sausage made by Volkswagen that's 25cm long and shipped from Germany to Lancashire
It's hard to imagine Ford makers flipping burgers or Peugeot staff rolling out the pizza dough - but for Volkswagen, the idea of selling food is their reality - and it's more popular than their cars. The Volkswagen Sausage has been sold by the manufacturer since 1973 from their Wolfsburg plant in Germany.
Located in Holly Tree village, the shop is known for keeping traditions alive and boasts their popular Blackburn dish, the John Bull. It's also known for its rag pudding, 'Double Dab' butty and of course, familiar items such as fish, chips and pies. The chippy state that they sell the sausages on their own with chips, or they can be used for their currywurst, which they sell individually. In my opinion, the only way to eat the VW sausage is to have it slathered with the infamous curry sauce, but each to their own.
