Space is the next frontier and even in South Africa, entrepreneurs are focusing on space technology. JohanFourieZA spoke to Mike-Alec Kearney, CEO of CubeSpace_ADCS

A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, with the Crew Dragon capsule, is launched carrying four astronauts on a NASA commercial crew mission at Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida, U.S. April 23, 2021.

In 2002, a 31-year -old South African immigrant to the US founded a company that is likely to transform the course of human development. SpaceX would, within two decades, become the first private company to send a spacecraft to the International Space Station , achieve the first vertical take-off and vertical propulsive landing of an orbital rocket , be the first to reuse an orbital rocket and become the first private company to send astronauts to the ISS .

SpaceX also launched, by January 2020, the largest satellite constellation – Starlink – to provide commercial internet services.
