The next full moon, called the full buck moon, will rise at the beginning of July. The moon, the first full moon of the summer season, will appear full in the sky for up to three days.

It is known as the full buck moon, as this is the time of year when male deer antlers are in full growth, according to the Maine Farmers' Almanac.
