Australia prepares for Matildas quarter-finalThere are a range of live sites where fans can gather to watch the match with hundreds of other supporters on the big screen, including the official FIFA Fan Festivals in each of the tournament's Australian host cities.
In Sydney, the Fan Festival is at Tumbalong Park, while Melbourne's is at Federation Square and Brisbane's is at South Bank, Adelaide's at Festival Plaza and Perth's is held at Forrest Place.Elsewhere, local councils will hold live sites of their own, while the AFL has ticked off on showing the match on big screens at the MCG before the clash at the ground between Carlton and Melbourne so fans with tickets to the latter can still watch the quarter-final.
The G isn't the only ground that is showing the game – the SCG, Rod Laver Arena and Optus Stadium will do their own big-screen broadcasts, and Sydney Olympic Park, which will host Saturday's other quarter-final between England and Colombia, is setting up three live sites. Gates 3 and 4 and Rod Laver Arena will be open from 3.30pm. The 14,000 seat stadium will be free to enter, with a "first come first serve" seating preference."And [on Saturday], Rod Laver will too."You can see a full list of places to view the Matildas vs France quarter-final below.
And you can watch the match on Optus Sport, which has the rights to every game of the 2023 tournament.
