Phil Lord and Chris Miller discuss how they were working on a very 'different' version of the 2023 DCEU superhero film The Flash.

The Flash had a troubled production history, as there were multiple directors and writers attached to the project over the years, with most of them departing due to creative differences. Lord and Miller were working on it in 2015, but left to make 2018’s Solo: A Star Wars Story, a project they were fired from in 2017.podcast, Lord and Miller were asked how much work they had actually done for The Flash before they left the project. “We have a very elaborate treatment,” Miller said. Lord added that it was “pretty different” than the movie that ended up being made. When asked if they could expand on what was so different about their version compared to the finished movie, the two declined. Lord said, “It’s a good idea that I’m afraid to not be able to use someday. That’s all I’ll say.” Lastly, the two addressed whether they would be interested in returning to DC if James Gunn were to call them up for a project.
