G’s direction, wait no further: it’s here, and it looks pretty good. Emphasis on “pretty.” While still much too short for our liking at only 46 seconds, this new look from AnimeJapan makes a compelling case for the series’ arrival this summer. There’s a distinct 90s vibe throughout the preview, which is partially owed to Shuhei Handa’s character designs and its use of color. Its aesthetic leans more cartoony than prior adaptions, but with the tradeoff of leaning more toward the artwork of thefrom Handa featuring Motoko Kusanagi on top of the AI tank Fuchikoma. At time of writing, it’s unclear whether.
