For film actors, winning an Oscar is the ultimate feather in one’s cap, so to speak. But this year at the 2026 Oscars , many attendees wore them quite literally. Bird fashions weren’t a particularly strong trend for most of awards season, but on March 15 at the Dolby Theater, a new red-carpet look suddenly sprang to life, like a phoenix, or perhaps a majestic peacock, and we were seeing the avian influence everywhere.

It’s hard to tell if this was achieved through actual feathers or the artful use of tulle, but either way, it’s definitely reminiscent of plumage. We can’t decide whether Nicole Kidman, also in Chanel, looks more like a dove or a swan. For your own pale pink feathery moment, try this slip dress from Anthropologie . Leave it to Demi Moore to take the trend as far as it could go, wearing a Gucci piece that is nothing but feathers. You won’t find a dupe of this on the mass market, but Moda Operandi will sell you a couple of gowns that pack an equal punch: would you prefer black or white?
