Directed by David Leitch, The Fall Guy’s cast includes Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt as stuntman Colt Seavers and first-time director Jody Moreno, respectively. Although Colt left her behind after his nearly career-ending back injury, he and Jody rekindled their romance by the end of the film.
What’s more, Colt learns that everything — including his fall — occurred because of Tom and Gail. Gail, meanwhile, was also trying to put a wedge between Colt and Jody, driving them further apart so that neither would suspect what was going on. What Gail ended up doing, however, was bringing Colt and Jody closer together. Tom’s goons attempting to kill Colt and nearly being framed for murder really put things into perspective for him.
Gail also used Jody to ensure that Tom had an action movie to star in, especially considering his history with stuntmen and his awful behavior in general. Gail knew that bringing Colt back into the picture would distract Jody, giving Gail more time to plan with Tom. Unfortunately for Gail, Jody wasn’t so easily swayed. Seeds of doubt had begun to form and, despite being a bit jaded, Jody still trusted Colt more than she did Gail.

The film’s ending showcases how much can be done with stunts, and The Fall Guy 2 could explore more of the stunt world and those in it.
Emily Blunt shared a similar sentiment when talking about a potential sequel to The Fall Guy. At the end of the film, her character has realized her dream of finishing her first feature as director, and a sequel could tackle what comes next for Jody. Here’s what Blunt said about sequel possibilities : At the same time, Blunt admits that The Fall Guy sequel is really up to moviegoers, as the studio will have to see if “people love it” or not.
