The movie follows Robert McCall after the events of the first two movies. Continuing his quest to use his skills to help those in need, Robert runs into some trouble when he suffers a severe life-threatening injury while retrieving stolen money. However, this injury may lead to a new life for Robert.
Finding peace in the Italian coastal town where he was saved, Robert begins to take a shine to the locals and their way of life. When members of an organized crime syndicate, the Camorra, begin hassling the residents, Robert decides to step in. Pointing the CIA in their direction and taking a more direct approach, Robert will once again act as the Equalizer to save this town that he has grown to see as his new home.
