Ancient ruins with spooky rumours of devil worship hidden in Yorkshire woods
Nestled within a vast estate in North Yorkshire, an ancient and mystical ruin stands, which isn't quite as old or mysterious as it appears.
The exact date of the temple's construction remains uncertain, but it's believed to have been erected sometime between the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Much like Stonehenge, little is known about the 'temple's' construction, but it's highly unlikely that it served as an astrological clock or a site for human sacrifice.Rather, it was a 'folly', a type of structure designed to mimic ancient ruins or monuments, reports Yorkshire Live.
