The Anchorage Fire Department wants to remind everyone that with Fourth of July fun comes important rules to follow.

“I think the easiest way to describe is if the heating and cooking fire is being used as a manufactured recommended device as it’s intended to be used,” Boyd said. “So, if it’s a cooking stove or something like that that gets it up off of anything that’s combustible and it’s being used as intended, then that’s allowed.”, barbecue grills are allowed, as are enclosed pellet grills .
Burn barrels, burning trash, yard debris, leaves, construction material and woody debris including Spruce Bark Beetle wood are prohibited. These materials must be disposed of via curbside trash removal or taken to the SWS transfer site or landfill.
