The Diplomat has been renewed for season 3 ahead of the release of season 2, the announcement also confirming a key location change for the Keri Russell-led thriller. The espionage series has been a major hit with Netflix, who previously confirmed The Diplomat season 2 less than two weeks after season 1 became a streaming success.
Now, TheWrap has confirmed The Diplomat season 3 is currently in production, the announcement coming from Netflix's chief content officer Bela Bajaria at Los Angeles' Bloomberg Screentime Conference. Season 3 will be shooting both in London and New York City. This renewal and change in location comes before season 2's premiere on Netflix at the end of October, alongside news creator Debora Cahn will be returning as showrunner.
