A new trailer for The Diplomat season 2 has been released, revealing new details about the upcoming episodes in the political thriller series. The Diplomat season 1 ended on a major cliffhanger, with an explosion resulting in the potential death of Kate’s husband, Hal . While it was previously confirmed that he lived through the major terrorist attack, the show’s protagonist now believes UK Prime Minister Trowbridge was involved in the terrorist attack that started the show’s major storyline.
Additionally, Kate is shown growing closer to UK Foreign Secretary Austin Dennison , whom she shows a potential romantic interest in that could further as the show progresses. Stuart is also seen with major injuries following the explosion, his own storyline seemingly weaving its way into the larger plot. The trailer ends with Kate and Hal meeting with US Vice President Grace Penn in London, potentially opening a new can of worms for the US ambassador’s investigation.
