Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has officially agreed to debate his California counterpart, Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom, escalating a public feud that has lasted over a year.

“In one respect, the debate between California and Florida has already been had,” DeSantis told Hannity Wednesday, citing the former’s high out-migration numbers compared to his home state’s. “But in another sense, this is the debate for the future of our country. Because you have people like Joe Biden they would love to see the Californication of the United States.”
In a letter to Hannity last week, Newsom proposed a debate date of November 8 or 10 and location of Georgia, Nevada, or North Carolina. And in a statement late Wednesday, a Newsom spokesman reiterated the proposed dates and told DeSantis to “put up or shut up.” “Anything else is just games,” he said.
