The Dark Knight Rises almost showed more of Bane's backstory in a deleted scene, but it would have hurt what made the character so cool.
The Dark Knight Rises introduced Bane as one of its villains, and the mystery around his origin story and the mask he was attached to was a big part of what made him so interesting and cool, but that would have been very different had one scene not been deleted from the final cut.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Bane arrived in Gotham City at a moment when Bruce Wayne had retired as Batman following the events of The Dark Knight, pushing Bruce to put on the costume again and get back into action, which was not easy as Bane was unlike any other villain Batman had met up to that point.
That’s as far as The Dark Knight Rises went in explaining Bane’s backstory, but according to costume designer Lindy Hemming , there was a sequence in The Dark Knight Rises that showed Bane being injured in his youth, thus explaining the scar on his back and why he wears a waist belt.
Why It’s Good The Dark Knight Rises Cut Scenes From Bane’s Backstory Although The Dark Knight Rises didn’t show much of Bane’s backstory, it’s a lot better this way than if it had kept the above-mentioned deleted scenes. Bane’s story was revealed too late into the movie, so keeping those scenes would have messed with the pace of the third act of The Dark Knight Rises and would have taken away what made Bane so scary.
