The Da Vinci Code is a 2006 mystery thriller film directed by Ron Howard, based on Dan Brown's novel of the same name. The early 2000s were an interesting time for movies. On one hand, the multi-installment franchise system was rising with the likes of Harry Potter and The Hunger Games, while superhero movies were on the rise with Robert Downey Jr's Iron Man franchise.
