The Crime Blotter: Sultan man held on $1 million bail for alleged murder on SR 2. Darren Dedo reports the crime from overnight on August 10

On Saturday at noon, Snohomish County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a shooting in the 36700 block of State Route 2. Upon arrival, deputies found the victim, a 39-year-old Monroe man, shot and killed. The suspect, a 23-year-old Sultan man, was taken into custody.

Both men exited the residence and walked to a parking lot outside. Video surveillance showed the victim and suspect talking to each other from approximately 10-15 feet apart. The 39-year-old victim turned and began walking away from the suspect. Lacey Police are looking for a suspect that attempted to siphon gas from a bus belonging to the Kiddie Academy located at 1130 Galaxy Drive NE. Police say he damaged the vehicle while doing it.If you have any information about the suspect, call 360-704-2740 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.Seattle Police say two patrol units before 11 last night were blocking two lanes of traffic on 15th Ave. West, south of West Garfield ST for a collision investigation with emergency lights activated.
