The Continental star Colin Woodell teases a different Winston in Peacock’s upcoming John Wick prequel spin-off, which debuts September 22.
, Woodell said: “It’s a story of revenge and making amends for what I think is taken from [my character], and that’s my love and my family.”
Woodell continued, explaining that the younger version of Winson isn’t quite the showboat that the olderportrayal becomes in the John Wick movies: “I love Ian’s embellishment [of the character], and how delicious everything is. To some degree, we begin to get there at the end [of The Continental] and you understand what motivates him, but I didn’t get to really participate in that deliciousness.”The Continental is described by Peacock as a three-part event.
“The three-part event will explore the origin behind the iconic hotel-for-assassins centerpiece of the John Wick universe through the eyes and actions of a young Winston Scott,” per the official logline. “He’s dragged into the Hell-scape of 1970’s New York City to face a past he thought he’d left behind. Winston charts a deadly course through the hotel’s mysterious underworld in a harrowing attempt to seize the hotel where he will eventually take his future throne.
Along with Woodell, cast members include Mel Gibson, Mishel Prada, Ben Robson, Hubert Point-Du Jour, Nhung Kate, Jessica Allain, Ayomide Adegun, Jeremy Bobb, and Peter Greene. The Continental is executive produced by Greg Coolidge Kirk Ward, and Shawn Simmons. Executive producers are Kolstad, Stahelski, Basil Iwanyk, David Leitch, Shawn Simmons, Paul Wernick, Rhett Reese, and Erica Lee. Episodes are directed by Albert Hughes and Charlotte Brandstrom.Abdullah Al-Ghamdi is a news writer for ComingSoon, with a specific focus on TV.
