State and local agencies worked together to reopen the recreation site for public use this season.

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Chena River State Recreation Site, located off of Geraghty Avenue in Fairbanks, opened today, Friday, August 26 at noon.

A big thank you goes out to the Department of Natural Resources Division of Forestry and Fire Protection and Division of Parks and Outdoor Recreation, in partnership with the City of Fairbanks for making this possible. The campsites, however, will be closed to the public and will be blocked off for the remainder of this season.
