The best places to get the cheapest fuel across Lancashire
It comes as a new report shows the summer of falling petrol prices has come to an end as unleaded has jumped back to levels last seen in May. On Monday , the price of petrol was back up to 145p a litre while diesel was up to an average of 145.84p.
With families looking to embark on summer holidays and trips over the coming weeks, the timing couldn't be worse and is another huge cost of living blow. Yesterday Asda announced it is to display daily fuel prices live online for the first time after pressure from the Government and the UK competition watchdog on supermarkets. The Issa brothers-owned business claimed it will be the first supermarket to publish all local fuel prices online.
Prices will be available at 10.30am each day and will show the previous day’s closing price, the retailer said. Asda added that it is continuing to work with the Government as it develops an industry-wide fuel finder scheme and a spokesman for the business said that “by sharing our prices online customers will be able to find the best value at the pumps before they get in the car”.
