“To have 36 doors kicked in, 73 windows blown out. A building completely gone.'
WILLOUGHBY, Ohio - A new beginning at Chagrin River Walk apartments, 18 months after a massive fire in February 2023 destroyed the Mentor Avenue complex.
“To have 36 doors kicked in, 73 windows blown out. A building completely gone. Damages on both adjacent properties, everything fixed repairs, and people back in their houses that night and having this building back up is amazing. It’s going to be impossible to know what the cause of the fire was. The building was completely demolished. We had to move pieces of the building around underneath to put the fire out,” said Carmigiano.
Carmigiano added so many community members helped them out the day of the fire with food and other acts of kindness. “Over the last year and a half it really inspired us to give back to the community in Willoughby,” said Ccarmigiano.“I’m excited to have a new story to tell with this new building,” said Jillian Fisher.FedEx employee dies after falling out of truck on to I-271Suspected microburst causes damage in Highland Heights
