Amazon continues to ride the wave of The Boys, what might be considered its first bonafide original megahit, greenlighting a third season, an after-show and a spin-off.

5. Criminal Minds , 675 million9 . The Legend of Korra , 541 millionIt’s notable that the top two shows, Cobra Kai and Lucifer, are technically Netflix originals, but series that Netflix bought and is making/has made new seasons of. While The Office, Criminal Minds, Shameless, Grey’s Anatomy and The Legend of Korra are all not Netflix originals, but licensed. Away is the only true, entirely original Netflix series to make the list. But the real story is The Boys at #3.

I’m not sure how far The Boys are into the comics at this point, but this is not The Walking Dead where there are 100+ issues of source material. But Amazon seems okay with going outside the lines, which they are doing with the spin-off, said to take place in a college for burgeoning young superheroes. I would expect no less than 5-6 seasons of the original series, though usually, we will see viewership dips as the years press on, at least for all series that aren’t named “Game of Thrones.

The Boys continues to be Amazon’s rock. Expect more news and more investment in the series to come. And let’s see an Emmy push for Antony Starr’s Homelander, eh?
