Warner Bros. Television has announced that executive producer Chuck Lorre is working on a new comedy series that expands on the universe of The Big Bang Theory. Details on casting and plot remain undisclosed, keeping fans intrigued about the upcoming show.
The Big Bang Theory 's highly-anticipated spinoff is in the works — but what is there to know about the show so far?
The Big Bang Theory, which aired from 2007 to 2019, starred Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco, Johnny Galecki, Simon Helberg, Kunal Nayyar, Mayim Bialik and Melissa Rauch as a group of friends made up of scientists and their significant others. “It’s both as complex and as simple as just feeling innately that it was time,” he told Entertainment Weekly in 2019. “It speaks to a lot of things, none of them bad. There is no negative reason to stop doing Big Bang. It felt like we have been able to do this for so many years now, it doesn’t feel like there is anything left on the table. Not that we couldn’t keep doing it, but it feels like we’ve chewed all the meat off this bone.
