He added that the West had “a hidden agenda” in reviving this issue.

This isn’t just talk. Bosnia as established by the U.S.-authored Dayton Accords in late 1995 is a ramshackle affair, consisting of two entities, the mostly Muslim Federation and the Serbian Republic or Republika Srpska. The awkward Dayton solution, with its weak governance and endemic ethnic animosities and corruption, was intended to be a short-term fix only. Three decades later, it’s still in place, barely.
