Nothing says Halloween more than a good pumpkin carving session
. While it's easy to pick up a pumpkin from your local supermarket, it can be extra fun to make a trip to a local farm to find the perfect one.
As well as picking your pumpkin, there are a number of different activities, food and spooky gifts on offer. With admission from £2 to £3 per person with under 16s allowed in for free.The Oxton farm in Nottinghamshire opens its fields of pumpkins for visitors to come and grab for carving. The family-run farm has a variety of pumpkins from small to large ready for picking and the team estimate there are more than 40,000 on-site to choose from.
The family-friendly event has food on offer from the Little Schnauzer Coffee Company and Rocket Dogs for anyone who might need a caffeine boost. Best of all, the venue offers free parking and the farm opens from 9.30am until 5pm. There are thousands of pumpkins to choose from in all shapes and sizes with the option to buy as many as you like. Each child leaves with a free pumpkin with white or traditional jack-o-lanterns on offer.
