In the new animated movie 'Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse', it’s a full-on spiderpalooza. What better place for a good old-fashioned pointing Spider-Man gag? SpiderVerse
That interplay of styles becomes particularly noticeable at a few points in the movie, including a set of scenes crafted all in Lego. There are also a couple of very human cameos in the animated Spider-Verse, including’s curmudgeonly shop clerk Mrs. Chen and Donald Glover, who has appeared in a few Spider-projects over the years and who wasPowers says Glover’s cameo came about as the creative team was fooling around with storyboards.
Powers says when they approached Glover to do it, he was game, so the team quickly crafted a Prowler costume and threw him into a studio for a few hours to deliver his lines. Joking that Glover is “the key to the multiverse,” Powers says, “at the end of the day, we're fans as much as anyone else, and we trust our own opinion. If something can amuse all of us and make all of us lean in, we feel pretty good about it being the best version of whatever we’re trying to do.
