It'll be nearly impossible for The Bear season 3 to top season 2's Christmas episode, but the show has already planted the perfect follow-up.

Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT It’ll be almost impossible for The Bear season 3 to top the acclaimed Christmas episode from season 2, but the show has already planted the perfect mystery to tackle in a follow-up flashback. The whole of The Bear’s second season was widely praised by critics, as was the first season, but the reviews singled out season 2, episode 6, “Fishes,” as the standout installment.

All of these guest stars gave memorable performances in “Fishes,” but Jamie Lee Curtis stole the show as the volatile Berzatto matriarch, Donna. Curtis gave a really great performance in the role, but Donna’s appearance in this episode also filled in some important backstory. It went a long way toward explaining why Carmy doesn’t know how to communicate in a healthy way and expresses himself almost entirely through anger.

The Bear Season 3's Flashback Episode Must Reveal The Truth About Carmy's Father The flashback episode in The Bear season 3 has to do something with Carmy’s father. It could flash back to the actual opening of The Beef, or just focus on an important day in which Carmy, Mikey, and Sugar were all cooking with their father. The Bear has yet to reveal what happened to Carmy’s father.

There have been a few hints about Carmy’s dad’s fate. When Richie refers to a time before Carmy was born, he says Carmy was “still in that deadbeat’s balls.” He also tells his ex-wife Tiffany that he’ll stick around and help raise their daughter so Tiffany won’t end up like Donna. This seems to support the theory that Carmy’s dad walked out on the family. But Uncle Jimmy’s dream about Carmy’s dad and the way he talks about him in general seem to suggest that he’s dead.

The Bear Season 3 Revealing Carmy's Father Can Also Solve A Mystery About The Beef Resolving the mystery of Carmy’s father could also resolve the mystery of The Beef’s origins. Did Carmy’s father open The Beef before Mikey? In season 1, Uncle Jimmy mentioned that The Beef was first opened by Carmy’s dad and Carmy referred to the restaurant as “Mom and Dad’s piece of s***.
