Six Republican members of Congress sue to have ballots from overseas voters — including members of the U.S. military set aside in November election.
These views are mine, not those of the Department of Defense . As an active-duty servicemember, I’ve voted by absentee ballot for nearly 20 years. I already mailed my ballot. Why are six congressmen from Pennsylvania suddenly suing to verify my identity?
Before every election, I register by Federal Post Card Application with my name, address, date of birth, and Social Security number. But they want my vote to be set aside until my identity can be confirmed. How? My Pennsylvania driver’s license expired during my first enlistment. Renewing it would’ve required me to come home for a photo, to get a photo-less ID, or to continue using my expired license with a copy of my orders. You try living in America with an expired driver’s license or a non-photo ID. I can’t even renew my military ID with those.Oct. 29, 2024, 4:20 a.m.Will they verify my residency? How? I left for basic training almost 20 years ago and haven’t lived there since.
