Australians are leaving two of the most populous states and choosing to live in Queensland, Western Australia and South Australia, according to the latest government figures. 7NEWS
South Australia was the only other state with more interstate arrivals than residents leaving, with 667 people from other states making SA their new home.New South Wales, Australia’s most populated state, had negative interstate migration of 31,000 people with more than 121,000 people leaving and only 89,000 moving in.
The Australian population has grown by 1.9 per cent nationally, and by up to 2.3 per cent in some states.The ABS found Australia’s overall population grew 1.9 per cent in the last year to 26.3 million.
