It is plain that antisemitism bubbles along just under the surface in Pennsylvania.

Josh Shapiro and his family - it is a moment to reflect. And specifically to reflect both on the origins of Pennsylvania, where most reading this live.

To say the least, William Penn would be appalled. He founded Pennsylvania quite specifically insisting “on a degree of freedom of religion which existed almost nowhere else in the world.”The University of Pennsylvania has felt the need to issuean “Action Plan to Combat Antisemitism” on the Penn campus.

And now, no less than the duly elected Governor of Pennsylvania -with his family - is subjected to a middle of the night fire bombing on the Governor’s Residence, which resulted in a hasty evacuation. The response to the attack on Gov. Shapiro has in fact been thoroughly bipartisan. Republicans, from Pennsylvania’s own GOP U.S. Sen. Dave McCormick to GOP Congressman Scott Perry , Pennsylvania Republican Party Chairman Greg Rothman, State Attorney General Dave Sunday, State Treasurer Stacy Garrity, and Congressman Dan Meuser have vocally condemned the attack.
