Cavanagh isn’t the first actor to express similar sentiments, with The Flash star Grant Gustin also saying he would return if asked.
Cavanagh’s comments about the DCU came at the 2024 Toronto Comic Con. When asked if he would reprise his role, Cavnagh replied with the following: The DCU Shouldn't Cast Cavanagh As Reverse Flash The Flash Ran For 9 Years From 2014 To 2023 The Flash and the Arrowverse was a massive endeavor, spanning over a decade, and hundreds of episodes. It would be unreasonable for DC to expect audiences to be invested in the DCU if they felt like they missed out on extensive backstories for some of its major characters. Even if Cavnagh was cast as a different version of the Reverse Flash, this would likely still be an issue.
