The hit Northern Quarter ice cream spot has opened its flagship shop at Manchester Arndale
It's known for its unique ice cream flavours, bubble teas and jiggly Japanese soufflé pancakes and now Lazy Sundae - the hit Northern Quarter dessert parlour - is bringing its sought-after sweet treats to Manchester Arndale.
READ MORE: The café with a special view of the city that is quite literally the definition of a hidden gemThey launched the original Lazy Sundae in 2021 on Tib Street in the Northern Quarter, describing it as a space 'where people can enjoy products and be culturally educated on Asian-inspired desserts'. Since then, their Instagram-worthy pancakes and unusual ice cream flavours have earned them a whopping 15.9k followers on the social media platform.
Lazy Sundae's name was created to capture what the owners wanted to bring to Manchester - "a little bit of sunshine and tropical paradise". Right in the middle of all the action as you come into the Arndale from Market Street, the inspiration is clear to see, with a sand-hued frontage and peach and pale pink high chairs and tables, as well as a smattering of plant life, to really transport its visitors to warmer climes.
Exclusive to Manchester Arndale, it opening series of ice creams will also include: matcha KitKat - a rich, vibrant matcha green tea flavour combined with the iconic crispiness of a KitKat; honey butter corn crunch, a sweet and savoury balance of fresh sweetcorn and crunchy honeycomb; and mango sticky rice, a sweet coconut-infused sticky rice topped with creamy fresh mangoes.
Of course sundaes feature heavily on the new menu for Manchester Arndale, whether it's the Taro Taro, which is based around a root vegetable that is native to Southeast Asia and is purple, making for a beautiful dessert, or the Miso Choco S’mores Sundae featuring a massive marshmallow, which like that brown sugar crème brulee is blowtorched for added effect.
