Summary Thirty years after his glamorously dressed, ABBA-filled trek across the Australian outback ended, Guy Pearce addresses the status of The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert's recently confirmed sequel. Helmed by Stephan Elliott and starring Pearce, Hugo Weaving, and Terrence Stamp, the comedy focuses on two drag queens and a transgender woman's journey across the outback to perform at an Alice Springs resort.

The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert is a cult classic that helped make an incredible impact on Australia and the wider LGBTQ+ movement across the globe. While the feature doesn't shy away from the uglier struggles the community faces as the trio is subject to various forms of bigotry, it also shows a wonderful portrayal of unity between the three despite their arguments and acceptance across various generations with the friends and family they meet along the way.
Furthermore, not only did Priscilla, Queen of the Desert become embraced by Australia at a time when the LGBTQ+ community was treated with more hostility, but many elements remain standout representations. Stamp's Bernadette is a sensitive portrayal of a transgender woman at a time when there was little representation, as she becomes the caring maternal figure who helps guide Adam in finding his way.
