The Acolyte is a television series set in the Star Wars universe at the end of the High Republic Era, where both the Jedi and the Galactic Empire were at the height of their influence. This sci-fi thriller sees a former Padawan reunite with her former Jedi Master as they investigate several crimes - all leading to darkness erupting from beneath the surface and preparing to bring about the end of the High Republic.
I've been a Star Wars fan ever since I was a little girl. But I lost all the sparks with all the sequels but I loved Rogue One though. The Disney Series were okay. I did like 1st few seasons of Mandalorian. Obi-wan and Andor are okay too. Not a fan of Ashoka. But I loved seeing Hayden again as Anakin and Vader. I was a Jedi Enthusiast so when I heard that there'll be a series for them I was excited and scared at the same time. Then I let the backlash get to me. I actually listen to all the hate comments so I was a hater before I even watch the show. But when I finally gave it a chance and watch it with open mind, I'll be damned... It was one of the best I've seen in a while. All those comments were actually wrong. I don't even know where did they get all those stuff. It feels like they didn't really watch the series... They just criticize every single detail and ignore the main story. Acolyte did not break the canon or influence by woke culture. The show is actually really good. It's not perfect like all Star Wars project but it's actually pretty good, best one I've seen in a while. Qimir/The Stranger's character carried the whole show tbh. He's probably the best character Disney ever created for Star Wars. He made the show exciting, thrilling, and captivating. His presence in the show is so powerful to say the least. Cos I was an avid fan of the Jedi arts/order but this character is so captivating and powerful enough to corrupt me and shake my loyalty to the Jedi. It made me question my own conviction and I love it. I like it when something proves me wrong and this show definitely proved me wrong. And the lightsaber fight scene! Wow! Blew me away! It's the best Saber fight scene choreography since Revenge of the Sith. To all the Star Wars fans, please don't be like me and judge this show based on the hate comments out there. Watch it with an open mind. This show brought the sparks back to me. The love I have for Star Wars.Definitely had it's moments and certain episodes were better than others, the action was decent but not as great as so many made them out to be, I would say the fighting choreography was better than your average SW Series and on par with the Original Trilogy but underwhelming compared to the Prequels and I refuse to compare anything to the Sequel Trilogy as I find those films utterly offensive to Star Wars in every way possible. That said, the writing at times was outright flat to horrid and the acting nor action could save it for most of Season 1, I could care less if they continue it to be honest. I feel Headland continued Kennedy's Agenda of destroying Star Wars and it's nostalgia while flaunting it to sell the story as Kathleen did with the Sequels and then asked the old fans she once easily discarded to give it a chance in order to save it, despite her saying it was not going to be for everyone in the fandom from day one.I thoroughly enjoyed it & the fight scenes with Master Sol were 1st Rate!! Story starts out a little slow but was well worth it!!With an enticing mystery, great fight scenes, strong production, and a solid cast, The Acolyte episodes 1 and 2 provide dark, promising foundations.
